Tentang Jurnal Ini

The Asia-Pacific Journal of Ecology and Biology Education (APJEBE) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal published by Penerbit Buku Mandala Riset Indonesia. It publishes original research on biology, ecology, and biology education, and aims to connect biological knowledge with the way it is taught, communicated, and applied to conserve biodiversity and sustain ecosystems.

The journal serves researchers, educators, and students working on the ecology and biology of the Asia-Pacific region and beyond, with particular attention to tropical systems, and offers a venue where ecological research and education research can inform each other.

Focus and Scope

Aims

  • Publish rigorous research in ecology and biology, and in the teaching and learning of biology and science.
  • Provide a venue where ecological research and education research can inform each other.
  • Help researchers and educators, especially from tropical and developing regions, share their work with an international audience.

Scope

Section A: Biology and Ecology

  • Terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecology
  • Biodiversity, conservation biology, and restoration ecology
  • Taxonomy, systematics, and species interactions
  • Population, community, and landscape ecology
  • Agroecology and the ecology of agricultural and fisheries ecosystems, where the contribution is biological or ecological
  • Environmental change and its effects on organisms and ecosystems

Section B: Biology and Science Education

  • Teaching and learning of biology and integrated science
  • Environmental and conservation education
  • Field-based, inquiry-based, and ecology-based learning
  • Scientific literacy, biodiversity literacy, and ethnobiology in education
  • Curriculum, assessment, teacher education, and learning technology in biology

Out of scope

Manuscripts that are purely applied or technical, such as aquaculture engineering, crop variety trials, food technology, or agricultural economics, are not considered unless they make a clear biological or ecological contribution.

Article types

Original research articles, short communications, and review articles. Every submission is screened for scope and similarity before it is sent for double-blind peer review.

Editorial team

The editorial board is being established. It will include editors and reviewers from several institutions and countries, covering ecology and biology education, and the journal will publish their names, affiliations, and ORCID iDs here. Researchers interested in serving as editors or reviewers are welcome to write to editor@mandalariset.com with a short description of their expertise.
