Allegations of Research Misconduct
APJEBE follows the COPE flowcharts for suspected misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, image manipulation, duplicate publication, authorship disputes, and ethical violations in research.
- Concerns about a submitted or published article, or about the conduct of an author, reviewer, or editor, can be sent in confidence to editor@mandalariset.com, with evidence where possible.
- The editorial office acknowledges the concern within 5 working days. An editor with no conflict of interest assesses whether it is credible.
- The authors are asked to respond. Where appropriate, the authors' institution, funder, or relevant authority is asked to investigate.
- Depending on the outcome, the journal may take no action, ask for clarification or data, publish a correction or an expression of concern, retract the article, inform the authors' institution, or decline future submissions from the authors concerned.
The journal acts on credible allegations whether the article is under review or already published, and however much time has passed. Allegations are kept confidential until the investigation reaches a conclusion. See Corrections and Retractions and Publication Ethics.
