Author Guidelines

Before you submit

Please read the Focus and Scope under About the Journal to confirm that your manuscript fits. Manuscripts must be original, must not be under consideration elsewhere, and must follow the guidance below.

Article types

• Original research article: new empirical, field, laboratory, or educational research.
• Short communication: concise reports of preliminary or focused results, new records, or methods.
• Review article: systematic or critical syntheses of a defined topic.

Preparing your manuscript

• Write in clear academic English. Provide a title, an abstract, and keywords; an additional Indonesian abstract is welcome.
• Remove author names, affiliations, and acknowledgements from the manuscript file for double-blind review. Give them in the submission metadata instead.
• Give an ORCID iD for the corresponding author. ORCID iDs for all authors are encouraged.
• Cite sources consistently and make sure every in-text citation appears in the reference list. Include DOIs for references where they exist.
• Supply figures and tables in a readable form, with captions that can be understood on their own.

Research ethics and permits

• Research involving people, such as education studies with students or teachers, must report ethical approval or an explanation of why it was not required, and informed consent where appropriate.
• Research involving animals or plants must comply with relevant national and institutional rules. Report collection, sampling, and field-access permits where they apply.
• Name specimen repositories and give accession numbers for deposited material where relevant.

Data availability

Authors are encouraged to deposit the data behind their findings in a public repository and to state where it can be found. If data cannot be shared, explain why.

Use of AI tools

AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain responsible for the content of their manuscript and must disclose any substantial use of generative AI in preparing it.

Peer review process

1. The editorial office checks scope, completeness, and similarity with previously published work.
2. Manuscripts that pass are sent for double-blind review by at least two independent reviewers.
3. The handling editor decides on acceptance, revision, or rejection, based on the reviews.
4. Accepted articles are published open access under CC BY 4.0.

Editors' manuscripts and conflicts of interest

Editors and editorial board members may submit to the journal. Their manuscripts are handled by an editor who has no conflict of interest with the authors and are reviewed independently under the same process as every other submission. An editor never decides on their own manuscript or on one by a relative or close collaborator. A conflict of interest statement is published with the article.
